The RLA has responded to a consultation on the supplementary planning guidance when it comes to student accommodation and converted flats.

The consultation, run by Cardiff City Council, sought the views of landlords on a range of new planning measures when it comes to purpose-built student accommodation.

In our response, which you can read here, we have outlined the concerns that we have with the number of purpose built student accommodation units that are being constructed, compared to the requirement of the market place.

Clarity needed

We have called on the Council to provide clarity on the current take up of the purpose built student accommodation, and if there is a firm evidence base to support any proposed increase in provision.
