The RLA’s new member exclusive tenancy deposit scheme…
The RLA are now working with the Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS), the largest scheme in England & Wales, to bring RLA members with a cheaper alternative to the other insurance based schemes in the market. DepositGuard allows members to register for free and keep hold of the cash deposit throughout the tenancy.
RLA chairman Alan Ward said: “DepositGuard enables us to offer competitive deposit protection without compromising our position in representing landlords’ interests.
“The systems and documentation are also ready for changes being introduced by the Government in April and are designed to give better protection to landlords.”
DepositGuard opens up the Tenancy Deposit Scheme and makes it easily accessible for landlords who manage deposits for their own properties. RLA members can register with the scheme for free and protect deposits up to a £500 value for £15 each and over £501 value for £22.50 each – the best rates in the market for deposit protection.
Here is what some of our members have had to say about DepositGuard already:
‘Excellent – Have transferred over all my deposits from other companies’ Rosslyn, Somerset
‘I found DepositGuard quick and easy to use and it is a peace of mind for both myself and my tenant’ Olive, West Sussex
An additional highlight of TDS is the use of their Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) a ‘swift, inexpensive and impartial’ service. This provides a substitute for the small claims court when claiming back deposits where with each case an Independent Case Examiner assesses the evidence presents and makes a quick decision, returning deposits without delay.
