More than 200 landlords attended our first Future Renting Wales conference in Cardiff- with much positive discussion about the future of the sector.

Rebecca Evans AM, the new Housing Minister was the keynote speaker at the event and said PRS landlords are a ‘valuable partner’ to the Welsh Government when it comes to providing the homes people need.

You can read a transcript of her speech here.

RLA policy director David Smith – legal adviser to the Renting Homes Bill committee – also addressed the conference on the implementation of the new Act and what it means for landlords and their rental businesses.

Anne Rowland of Rent Smart Wales also discussed the operation and future direction of the Rent Smart Wales scheme and other industry experts informed delegates about reforms to tax, energy efficiency standards and welfare reform.

For those of you who were not able to attend, a full summary of the day can be found on our storify.
