Landlords in Liverpool have just a week to submit their responses to a consultation by Liverpool City Council on the removal of permitted development rights.

The council is concerned that there are too many Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO) in the Dales area of Liverpool, L15, and that they could put pressure on the local environment and services.

In order to address this concern, Liverpool City Council is considering making an Article 4 Direction. This would remove permitted development rights in the area, which means that anyone intending to change the use of a property from a family home to a HMO, would first need to apply for planning permission.

You can follow this link to respond to the consultation.
