In 2013 the government launches changes to the housing benefit system (Universal Credit) and new funding for energy efficiency improvements (Green Deal). To keep landlords and agents one step ahead the RLA has created two new courses with dates in January, February, March and April. Bookings over the Christmas period have been high with only a few places remaining… so don’t miss out!

Green Deal

The Green Deal course is often seen as beneficial to landlords as the tenant pays for the improvements to the property. The course explains how the funding works and how an application is managed. Energy efficiency is becoming an important issue for tenants and the government and there are definite benefits to early adoption… The Green Deal Course

Universal Credit

Universal credit will impact tenants the housing benefit of tenants and direct payments to landlords. If you are in receipt of housing benefit payments then these changes could  impact your revenues significantly. The RLA is delighted to have Bill Irvine on board to deliver the RLA Universal Credit training course from  February onwards. A landlord himself and at the forefront of welfare knowledge , Bill will inform landlords on the impact and potential solutions….. Universal Credit Course
