The Government has released the summary of its recent consultation on possible changes to planning fees.

The RLA was particularly concerned on the impact of any changes in areas where Article 4 Directions (A4D) on HMOs have been implemented. Currently no fee is payable on a planning application submitted as a consequence of an A4D, because the applicant has had their original permitted development rights taken away from you.

However, the upshot of the consultation is that the Government have concluded that the issue is more complex than originally envisaged and will continue to consider their options.

The RLA is continuing to liaise with DCLG on this issue.
