We’re back in London at the Property Investor and Homebuyers Show this weekend.
From the 6 – 7th October 2017 at Excel London you’ll find our friendly team, a wide range of other exhibitors and have free access to over 80 insightful seminar sessions. The Property Investor and Homebuyers Show offers you an opportunity to network with other property professionals and update your knowledge.
We’re pleased to reveal that David Smith, RLA Policy Director is attending the event on Friday and will be providing an update on the Housing Planning Act, which is now in force and means that councils have more power to enforce penalties on landlords.
David will explain the new Civil Penalties and Rent Repayment Orders as well as providing advice on avoiding the associated financial penalties. You can catch David’s session in seminar room 1 at 11.30am on Friday 6th October.
We’ve also arranged for Tom Bassett, Fire Safety Specialist and RLA Fire Safety trainer to provide an overview of your responsibilities when it comes to protecting your tenants and property from a fire.
This vital for you to understand especially following the tragic events of The Grenfell Tower fire in June 2017 that left the nation in shock.
The loss of life was beyond reason and whilst the public enquiry is underway both social landlords, private landlords and block managers should naturally be questioning whether they are doing enough to protect their tenants from a fire.
Tom will explain relevant fire safety legislation that landlords and property investors must comply with to keep tenant’s safe and offer you some practical skills to help you feel more confident in managing fire risk assessments effectively. Tom will be speaking in seminar room 7 at 1.45pm on Saturday 7th October.
The show opens at 10am on both days and closes at 6pm on Friday and 5pm on Saturday.
If you do plan to attend make sure you come and meet myself and Adrian on the RLA stand (Stand No. 2) – We would love to see you there!
