RLA Cymru is delighted to sponsor Cardiff’s Landlord & Letting Show, 2nd & 3rd July 2014 – a free event providing valuable information and money-saving offers to Landlords and Letting Agents.

Times are changing in Wales. Welsh Government is planning to introduce new legislation which could see landlords and agents in Wales being heavily burdened by red-tape – this includes mandatory licensing, registration, training and much more.

With other changes on the horizon, now is more important time than ever for Welsh landlords and agents to come together to ensure their voices are heard. The Landlord & Letting Show provides an opportunity to network with others, earn CPD points and learn about how the latest changes may affect you.

The RLA will be hosting a range of seminars on Welsh Housing Policy, Buy-to-Let Mortgages and essential tips and advice on letting your property throughout the tenancy’s life cycle – whether you manage your property yourselves or through an agent.

RLA seminar times and details are listed below:

10:30am Wednesday 2nd July – ‘Letting Agents – the Good, the Bad and How to Choose Wisely’

Dave Absalom, the RLA’s senior Landlord Advice Team member, talks about how to choose the good from the bad, the roles and responsibilities of the letting agent and that of a landlord’s too! Perfect for those who are considering starting a business in this field or those wishing to update and refresh their knowledge.

12:30 pm Wednesday 2nd and 4:14pm Thursday 3rd – ‘Life’s changing for landlords in Wales’

It’s no longer business as usual in Wales.  The Residential Landlords Association’s Vice-Chair and Director for Wales will speak about the major legislative changes impacting housing in Wales, from national policies to local authority measures and what this means to you and all Welsh landlords.

1:00pm Thursday 3rd – ‘Landlords – Keeping ahead of your tenants’

The RLA’s senior Landlord Advice Team member, Dave Absalom, gives a short presentation on how to avoid common mistakes made in lettings, deal with problem tenants and most importantly stay one step ahead. This session is perfect for new landlords and those wishing to update and refresh their knowledge.

2:45pm Wednesday 2nd and 11:00am Thursday 3rd – ‘The BTL mortgage market and how to source the most suitable product for you’

Doug Hall, director of 3mc and RLA mortgages, will give an up-to-date picture on the current UK buy-to-let mortgage market, as well as providing advice on how to source the most suitable product for you, taking into account all criteria applied by different lenders. This seminar is perfect for those looking for opportunities in the buy-to-let mortgage market.
