After some great success at the Labour national party conference last week in Brighton, the RLA are back in the thick of it hosting fringe events and getting stuck into the Conservative party conference in Manchester.

Private rented housing – A manifesto for growth (Conservative Party Conference)

Date: Monday 30th September

Time: 5.30-7.00pm

Venue: Exchange 8, Manchester Central (secure zone)

Chaired by: Oliver Colvile MP, Chairman of the APPG for the Private Rented Sector

Speakers: Rt. Hon. John Redwood MP, Chairman of the Conservative Economic Affairs Committee; Alex Morton, Head of Housing, Planning and Urban Policy at Policy Exchange; Alan Ward, RLA Chairman.

Details: With 20 per cent of households expected to be in the private rented sector by 2016, the solution may partly lie with institutional investment but mostly with the 90 per cent of landlords who are individuals or couples. What needs to be done to encourage them to boost supply to meet the demand for high quality, affordable accommodation?
