The RLA has met members of the team supporting Northamptonshire’s police and crime commissioner, Adam Simmonds.
The RLA visited Commissioner Simmonds’ HQ at Wootton Hall, Northampton, yesterday; and discussed improved working arrangements between the police and landlords, as well as Northampton Borough Council’s recent proposals to consult on introducing some form of landlord licensing.
During an engaging meeting the discussion included issues such as problem tenants, anti-social behaviour, and how landlords and the police can work together to drive down crime and develop a mutually-beneficial working relationship.
Afterwards, Richard Ashton, the RLA’s policy and communications manager, said, “I thank Adam and his team for their hospitality and the positive welcome we received. The discussions were open and enlightening, and I look forward to further discussions about developing proposals for an excellent working relationship between the police and Northamptonshire landlords.”
