The RLA caught up with its Local Authority Network partner, Northumberland County Council, last week; and discussed a number of items, including the forthcoming third annual countywide forum for landlords and agents.

The event is being held on Wednesday 2nd October and is open to all landlords and agents operating in the county. Topics being covered include:

  • Warm Up North and the Green Deal;
  • Housing and welfare reform;
  • Northumbrian Water’s website and services to landlords;
  • A tax advice update;
  • Equality for landlords;
  • Home fire safety; and,
  • Other topical issues for the private rented sector.

This event follows the hosting of a successful forum last year, and has been expanded this year to include more trade and information stands for a day-long event, running from 10am to 4.30pm.  A complimentary lunch will also be provided.

After the meeting with Northumberland’s team (pictured above), Adrian Woolger, the RLA’s Local Authority Network coordinator, said, “I was delighted to meet the Northumberland private rented sector housing team. In addition to the forthcoming forum, we discussed a number of items including training and support to landlords, as well as the benefits of promoting accreditation to landlords. I look forward to working more closely with the team in forthcoming months.”
