Landlords in Stockport are invited to attend an advice roadshow hosted by the Residential Landlords Association on 11th April.
With over 150 Acts of Parliament affecting landlords, the roadshow is a fantastic opportunity for landlords to learn about upcoming legislation changes that will affect their business.
Following several recent announcements on Universal Credit, a representative from the Department for Work and Pensions will also be discussing amendments to Universal Credit that landlords need to know.
Last month the Government announced that it intends to formalise plans to make five yearly electrical safety inspections compulsory for landlords. Electrical Safety expert Ian Halton of NAPIT will be discussing these changes and will be giving helpful hints and tips for landlords to ensure electrical safety compliance.
A representative from Stockport Council will be also be at the event, answering specific questions landlords have on licensing.
Kitty Speakman, Training Academy Manager at the Residential Landlords Association said:
“The RLA is really excited to be hosting its second informal advice roadshow. It follows on from the success of our previous landlord advice roadshow in Sheffield, where a representative from the council made an exciting announcement on licensing in the city and landlords were able to ask some thoughtful questions”.
“We hope landlords attending the Stockport Landlord Advice roadshow will learn a lot of practical tips and vital legislative information from our housing law experts. It’s also a great opportunity to meet other landlords in your area in a relaxed, friendly setting.”
The Stockport Landlord Advice Roadshow will be held at Cornerstone, 2 Edward Street Stockport, SK1 3NQ. The event will begin at 5:30pm. Tickets are £20 for RLA members and £25 for non-members.
